The Town of Rocky Mount has collected $586,744 in meals tax during the first six months of this year, according to the finance department's June report.
Meals tax collected during the first six months of 2011 totaled $532,690.
The largest monthly amount of meals tax collected this year was in January with $106,760. The lowest amount collected was in February at $89,118.
June meals tax collections totaled $98,811, down slightly from the May collections of $98,822.
Meals tax collections in March totaled $90,554, and April collections totaled $102,709.
The town's meals tax continues to be the largest revenue producer for the town.
The finance department also reported that the town has collected $81,194 in sales tax during the first six months of this year.
Sales tax collected during the first six months of 2011 totaled $77,493.
The largest monthly amount of sales tax collected was $15,736 in February. The lowest amount of sales tax collected was $11,573 in March.
June sales tax collections totaled $13,404, down from the May collections of $14,974.
January sales tax collections totaled $12, 419, and April collections totaled $13,086. |
