Two Elliston men who pleaded guilty in May to burglarizing an Endicott residence twice were sentenced last week in Franklin County Circuit Court.

John Henry Hall, 21, will serve 15 months of a 16-year prison sentence, according to Franklin County Commonwealth's Attorney Tim Allen. He was also sentenced to eight years probation and ordered to be of good behavior for four years.

Luke Blaine Hall, 20, was sentenced to 20 years in prison, but the time will be suspended when he completes a detention diversion program through the Virginia Department of Corrections, Allen said. He will spend at least 12 months in the program.

Chad Daniel Collins, 21, of Shawsville and Daniel William McGuire, 20, of Elliston pleaded guilty to grand larceny and breaking and entering charges last week in connection with the case. A sentencing date has not been set.

A fifth suspect, Kesley Mae Frazier, 21, of Ferrum was initially charged with two counts of accessory to breaking and entering and two counts of accessory to grand larceny, but the charges were dismissed (nolle prossed).

On Feb. 9, the owners of a residence off Runnett Bag Road called the police about 9:35 p.m. when they arrived home and saw someone inside with a flashlight, according to Lt. Todd Maxey with the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

Deputy Bryan Johnson and officers with the Ferrum College Police Department searched the area and apprehended McGuire and Luke Hall near the scene on Route 40, Maxey said.

A Rocky Mount Police Officer and his canine partner tracked a third suspect, Collins, who surrendered to police about an hour later in a wooded area nearby, Maxey said.

Virginia State Police troopers and additional deputies identified two more suspects, John Hall and Frazier, who were located in a vehicle nearby, Maxey said.

The investigation led to the discovery of another burglary at the same residence on Feb. 8, Maxey said. Stolen property from both burglaries was recovered.
