On July 3, one veteran who currently resides in Franklin County will be recognized at the Rocky Mount Rotary Club's Fourth of July celebration at the Cy Dillon Football Stadium in Rocky Mount.
The veteran will be publicly presented with a medal (provided by Carter's Fine Jewelry Store) with a personally engraved presentation case.
Rotary club members are asking the citizens of Franklin County to nominate a Franklin County veteran, who has served on active duty with any of the five services.
Nomination forms will be reviewed by a committee of Rotary veterans, which will recommend veterans to be voted on by the entire Rocky Mount Rotary Club.
Forms can be picked up at The Franklin News-Post at 310 South Main Street or Carter's Fine Jewelry at 400 Old Franklin Turnpike.
Nominations forms can be mailed to Rol Walters, Rotary Patriot Award, P.O. Box 1000, Ferrum College, Ferrum, VA 24088. Deadline for entry is June 13. |
