The Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre at Ferrum College will hold auditions for its upcoming season on Saturday March 31.
A total of eight actors, singers, dancers and musicians are needed to complete the company.
All actors are paid, and housing and meals are provided. These auditions are only for full company members, and all actors must be available full time from May 14 through Aug. 5. No one-show actors are employed.
In addition to being prepared to do a 90-second, memorized monologue, auditionees should bring sheet music for singing, as well as an instrument if they play one. Auditions will start promptly at 10 a.m., but auditionees must call or email to schedule a specific audition time slot.
The Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre will present six shows in 2012, including "When the Lights Go On Again," a musical revue of WWII; Neil Simon's "The Odd Couple;" John Patrick's "The Curious Savage" and "The Night Loretta, Mother Maybelle, and Jeannie C. Spent in Jail," a country and western musical revue; Kipling's "Just So Stories,"a musical; and the touring children's show "The Jack Tales."
Located at Ferrum College, the Blue Ridge Dinner Theatre is now in its 33rd season. Last year, the company played to more than 7,000 people in Sale Theatre on the College campus and over 10,000 children and adults enjoyed its Jack Tales show.
