Rocky Mount police are looking for victims living in the State Street and Hunters Ridge Lane sections of town who may have had property stolen from their parked cars late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.

Lt. Todd Maxey said a number of stolen items have been recovered, including a set of golf clubs, but all of the owners have not been located.

As a result of the vehicle ransacking, Maxey said April Star Draper, 19, of Bassett, has been charged with two counts of grand larceny so far.

Patrolmen Chris Shelton and Derek Spencer investigated reports of four cars on State Street being ransacked and property stolen early Wednesday morning. Later, reports came in about other vehicles on Hunters Ridge Lane being ransacked with items missing, Maxey said.

About the same time, Cpl. Terry Dameron and Patrolman Ashley Norton responded to a drunk in public disturbance call at Holiday Inn, Maxey said. As a result of the call, some stolen items were recovered.

Anyone who had items stolen from their vehicles in the two areas is asked to contact the RMPD at 483-9275.
