A reward is being offered by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department for information leading to the arrest and conviction of two men who robbed a convenience store in Hardy Tuesday night.
Police are searching for two black males who are wanted for the armed robbery of Windy Gap Market on Jubal Early Highway, according to Lt. Steve McGuire.
The men walked into the store about 8:15 p.m., pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money, McGuire said. The clerk was alone in the store at the time.
The men took an undisclosed amount of cash and checks from the register, McGuire added. The clerk was not injured.
The suspects were wearing hooded shirts, masks and gloves, McGuire said. One suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, weighing over 200 pounds. The second suspect is described as a black male, about 5 feet 10 inches tall.
The men fled the scene on foot, running south on Route 116 toward Truman Hill Road, McGuire said.
A canine search for the suspects was unsuccessful because of the heavy rains Tuesday night, he added.
