The sixth annual Come Home to a Franklin County Christmas will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday in downtown Rocky Mount.
The Rocky Mount Community Partnership for Revitalization (CPR) and the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce are organizing the event. Fidelity Bank in Rocky Mount is the sponsor.
Friday night's activities will be held along Franklin Street, where carriage rides will be offered from the Rocky Mount Community and Hospitality Center (old train depot) to the farmers' market.
Activities are again scheduled at the Franklin County Public Library and The Franklin Center.
Three uptown locations on South Main Street also are included on the schedule.
The Festival of Trees is on display on the main floor of the N. Morris Building.
There also is a wildlife display in the front window of Cornerstone Land Surveying, along with holiday music at Mountain to Lake Realty.
The Ferrum College Collegiates will perform at 6 p.m. at the train depot, followed by Gilmore Warren.
Students of Gabe Stalnaker's Downtown Music will perform at the depot from 5 to 9 p.m.
Also scheduled to perform are students of the Blue Ridge Performing Arts Academy on the second floor of Basket Creations and More.
Francesca's Dance Academy students will be staging shows throughout the evening in the parking lot of Franklin Auto Glass with DJ Tracy providing the music.
There will be an ice sculpturing demonstration at Edible Vibe, and Lonnie Quinn and Samara Kohnen will perform from 5 to 9 p.m.
The Wright Kids will present a concert at 6 p.m. at the Franklin County Public Library. Pantasia, a flute ensemble, will follow from 7 to 8 p.m, while the Bald Knob Artists will have exhibits from 5 to 8 p.m.
All events at The Franklin Center are from 5 to 9 p.m., including photos with Santa, build a Parks and Rec bear and the miniature horse and carriage ride for the youngsters.
The farmers' market will again be the center for many activities, including the Jack Tale Players of Ferrum College who will perform from 4:30 to 6 p.m. Aspen Black, along with the Acoustic Angels, are scheduled to follow.
The Outlaw Cruisers will have vehicles on display in the farmers' market parking lot. Vendors will be located in the West Church Street parking lot area.
Winter scene photographs will be offered by Still Essence and Taylor Made Photography, while St. Nick's sleigh photos will be made at Studio Belle Visage.
Other participating sponsors include the Town of Rocky Mount and the Franklin County Department of Commerce and Leisure Services.
